This summer one of my paintings is going to play hide and seek in a marina. 13 Hassu, 2002 - 2005, restored 2017 from the series Sea of Love, 2017 - from the series " 4 x 28 = 107 ", 2002 - [ ongoing ] acrylic on frozen pizza cardboard box mounted on 1 cm thick MDF-board, 24 x 24 x 1 cm art & photo © 2005 - 2017 Tiina Hölli painting's price is 200 € Merigalleria Mathildan Marinassa Salon Taiteilijaseuran myyntinäyttely 30.04.-30.08.2017 poster : Merigalleria Exhibition in the press : Perniönseudun Lehti 2017-06-01 : Mathildan Marinasta saa myös silmanruokaa The painting is called Hassu, which means "funny" in English, and it is work # 13 in my series of square paintings " 4 x 28 = 107 ", and additionally now it is proudly presented also as in the subseries called " Sea of Love " on display on the Finnish southwestern seashore in a new marina called Mathildan Marina - and what a coincidence, the theme of the first ever summer group exhibition there happens to be " Sea ", and the works are hung in several different sites inside the new marina - and more happy coincidences ! the exhibition is by an amazing coincidence called Sea Gallery, and as said, the whole event is even happening on the Finnish Arkipelago seashore ( you did not expect that coming ! ) So all this is going on during the next summer period of 2 months in April - August 2017 while this same period happens to be the best sailing season in Finland now that came totally from behind the bushes and was that an amazingly lucky coincidence ! can you imagine this ?? and the exhibited works are, apparently, I am hoping, inside the brand new marina building by the sea (who would have guessed, but yes, the new building is exactly there, on the shore. The water was right there ! I saw it) but let's not be fooled it is not a real gallery but a game of hide and seek, so this work was quite fitting for the job, I was thinking. so I proposed it there, thinking maybe it can be located by its bright colors if you know what you are looking for ? but honestly - what can I say. I cannot give more detailed information about the location of this painting than this. I am not informed if there will be some kind of a beacon or seamarks etc. to help viewers to find this piece. I am not sure if a navigator would help in this case either ? Binoculars might aid. Better yet, in this case, maybe a magnifying glass would do the job ? And finally, did you know that marina is "pienvenesatama" in Finnish - so now you know all there is to know and also a bit more about the Finnish vocabulary, if you were not aware of this Finnish word already, because all this here was quite pivotal and detailed data for you, never underestimate the value of a piece of information like this. I bet you are thanking me for reading to the end of this.
During its so far 16 years of existence this painting has gone through some minor surface changes, got drawn and written its history and some of my opinions about life and similar issues in general on the backside of it, and in my Archives too, and got photographed now and then and again from all angles, and of course edges nicely painted. Packed and unpacked, packed and unpacked. So it is quite neat a package at this point. If it doesn't find its loving home this summer, I have an amazing follow-up plan for it. It is going to be a part of a bigger plan, which involves making of a bigger series of works, in fact, it is already a part of it. There is also going to be a new Artist's Book - I am already working on it. It involves Penises. And if the marina remembers its duties, I will inform the buyer what I have in mind, a request in fact, which involves some interacting with me. Sounds like fun. Well it is. So in case I could not catch you, if you purchase this work, please contact me. I will tell more. Hauskaa Vappua ! vappu - the first of May - May day - Walpurgis night - Walpurga's night Walpurgisnacht the most important festival in the lore of magic and witchcraft a feast of witchcraft in German folklore any orgiastic or bacchanalian party. source : sanakirja.org PS. While drove there 30.5.2017 with my PR Unit & Make Up Team ( = from the marine marketing personnel, in a bleeping hurry before the local newspaper's photographer came, I borrowed a little foundation cream to cover an insect bite spot right in the middle of my forehead of course on the day somebody calls says come I will take a photo of you, you will be the spokesperson of the whole marine now - so I said ptruuuuuuu - not gonna happen I know nothing don't make me, so she said (the marketing girl) okay it seems you cannot be trusted I'll do it myself ) to throw this gig as the marine area promotion performance top pro I brought another piece of work there with me to sell as well. Besides, with these gasoline prices can't afford to joydrive-around for just one purpose at a time like a rich-b-prince(ss). I advice to buy a few of my works first and maybe then I also will start enjoying pointless driving around like I vaguely remember doing last time in the good old times in the 70's ? Of course the price of this work is quadruple compared to Hassu, because I decided so and I can state reasons also, ref. 4 images below. Besides this is my painting and I say so. ( There was some arguing about this but who cares what do they know. ) Had some minor obstacles in the quest of finding Hassu until was guided to follow the route to the loo. It was a little disturbing so here's a first rate tip for you : it is located in the hotel room section behind the kitchen area backdoor where they go out to have a smoke downstairs and back in from another door between two doors so I said why not put the other one there too to accompany Hassu so I am guessing that's what they did. If you find the first one there's a good chance you'll see this next one there too. Mind you - these are quite small so don't walk too fast. Good luck. # 99 Venice Pillars, 2005, restored 2017 from the series " 4 x 28 = 107 ", 2002 - [ ongoing ] acrylic on frozen pizza cardboard box mounted on 1 cm thick MDF-board, 24 x 24 x 1 cm art & photo © 2005 - 2017 Tiina Hölli this work has been on display in Finland in the following exhibitions : Galleria Johan S.
